Food Hall

Ostermalm Food Hall (Ostermalms Saluhall) in Stockholm is like a temple dedicated to great food. The colours are vivid, the atmosphere is friendly and the smells are superb! Each counter is carefully laid out to create stall after stall of appealing, colourful dishes. The building itself is quite a star too dating back to the 1880s and there are café’s and restaurants where you can sit down to try some of Sweden’s best dishes. You can get more out of your visit by taking the Stockholm Food Tour which calls in at the food hall.

In 2007, Ostermalm Food Hall was named the world’s 7th best food hall! World renowned chefs like Jamie Oliver have sung its praises too. In swedish it is known as Östermalms Saluhall. The traders on each stall are always very happy to offer advice on what to buy for cooking on your holiday or even for taking back home. You’ll really notice the traditional layout of the stalls when you visit. Each having the same wooden-panelled design with names above the counters, making the whole interior look really attractive.

The food hall is open for business Monday to Thursday from 9.30am to 6pm, Friday from 9.30am to 7pm and Saturday from 9.30am to 4pm. The food hall is particularly busy at lunchtime and through the afternoon. There is no charge for admission.
